It's literally pure satire about marketing a new product. I read the entire novel in a day and a half. But it is a close call. After he gets a million-dollar idea for a new cola product, cheeky and arrogant Scat approaches a beautiful, ruthless marketing manager named 6 at Coca-Cola. The story was funny, but not hilarious. Sneaky Pete is one sneaky basterd. The characters are amazing, the plot is fantastically cycnical, and I laughed out loud more than once while reading it. The idea is to make a feature length movie that is in fact an advertisement. It is a scathing view of our market-driven world. He is aware of the economic and social issues in the world, and he addresses many of them in his novels.
What marred this a bit was selective idiocy in how the characters approached their work -- they often made nonsensical choices in how they approached their business issues that extended the story but felt overly reaching.
